Tim and I made the drive safely from Oklahoma to Las Vegas with a stop in Denver for Christmas with the Wheeler family. We had one day to get all of our errands done before the families arrived.
Our wedding was not without out its "minor" bumps. My family arrived to Las Vegas "Home Alone" style, thankfully not forgetting anyone. Tara had a rough start to the trip when TSA shredded her bag then gracefully duct taped it back together for the flight. With the limited car seats Tim and I were shuttling everyone from the airport to Grandma Barb's or South Point Hotel all day Sunday. We finally got almost everyone in safely. Unfortunately for Juli, the Maid of Honor, her flight was cancelled and she missed the bachelorette party.
Tim went golfing with the guys on the day before the rehearsal dinner. On the way to pick up my Dad, brother and photographer, a crazy Russian with a mail-order-bride was not paying attention and turned into my large white SUV. Needless to say, the 4-Runner has not been fixed yet. After the chaos of the Russian car accident the guys went out later that night for nice dinner riding down the Las Vegas Strip in a limo.
My wonderful new family and long time friends pulled together and hosted a fabulous Bachelorette Party! It included shots with everyone and an inebriated mother of the bride. It was great fun! My best friend Jeska pulled off a great feat and got us a limo to drive down the Strip. That was also a great time with all of my bridesmaids. Juli finally made it into Las Vegas safely at around 1:00 a.m.
The day of the Rehearsal Dinner was not without its problems also. This problem was mostly my fault as I could not resist getting In-N-Out. At the same time I had also taken orders for 14 other people in our party. Needless to say this put me behind for getting to the Rehearsal. After being rushed and put in a bad mood with my MIA Fiance to get everyone to the golf course for the rehearsal. We finally got everyone to the venue and the rehearsal was underway. During the rehearsal I received a wonderful surprise as Tim gave me my engagement ring while practicing the ring exchange of the vows. I was completely surprised as I had not seen my ring before this. It is a beautiful Tiffany's design in Platinum.
After the rehearsal we headed to Grandma Barbs house for a fantastic dinner of tasty Mexican food, a Margarita Machine and beer custom brewed by KDubbs Brewery. Despite the chilly weather, we had a great time! Thank you to Grandma Barb and the Gorski's for such a wonderful party!
The wedding day went off without a hitch! My mom, Aunt Janene and Mom Mom did a great job on the flowers for the girls! The only problem we faced was poor Tara's dress that had to be re-hemmed just before the ceremony. The ceremony was beautiful. Just as the sun set, we said our vows. Both of us messed them up, but laughed it off with our family and friends. After the ceremony we ate and danced the night away at the reception. No one was ready to leave when the DJ packed up for the night.
We had a great time with our closest family and friends! It was a little crazy, but a great start to a wonderful life ahead of us. Tim and I are so grateful for everything our families did to pull the wedding together. It was a blast and a truly memorable lifetime experience.
Until next time,
The Gorskis
